Hand Carved Human Knee Caps

                             “The Pagan’s Knees”

All About The Bones

These two beautiful knee caps are approximately 100 years old, and they have a significant historical value well beyond their age. These are two very rare authentic human knee cap bones. These bones are nearly impossible to obtain. Many of the smaller bones are lost forever and/or are very difficult to find, however, the knee caps are some of the most difficult human bones to obtain.

These bones had lost a lot of their natural bone density. There are many contributing factors that will affect bone density over long periods of time. The entire skeleton of this deceased man had multiple issues with deterioration and decay. Many of the bones were just like these, they were lightweight and dark in color.

It did take quite some time to carve these very simple patterns into the bones. The bone density varied considerably throughout the small knee bones making the simplistic design difficult to achieve. The sun and the moon represent the pagan gods they have worshipped for thousands of years…on their knees.

The Sun God & The Moon Goddess

The first man recorded to declare himself a god, was Nimrod the god of the sun. His mother, Semiramis, declared herself to be “the mother of god”.  Together with their son, Tammuz,
they replaced the worship of Jehovah God, with a “triune” a “trinity” mystery god.  Since Tammuz married his own mother…he was both… “God…the Father” and…“God…the Son”.

The lunar deities are also very important archetypes in the modern pagan movement and Wiccans. The Moon Goddess is celebrated in different cultures around the world where they form a central role in mythology.

The moon is associated with the divine feminine entities as many early societies believed the feminine periodic cycles were linked to the phases of the moon. Pagan movements, Wiccans, witches, and warlocks all practiced forms of magical and mystical ritualistic worship.

one human bone knee cap hand carved a sun into the bone itselfThe worship of sun gods and moon goddesses spans back millenniums and is found in many religions around the world, and their rituals are still being practiced to this day. In fact, my research indicates that the worship of the sun gods and the moon goddesses are still the most prominent and practiced religions in the world to this day.

This sculpture represents the pagan rituals that have been performed by men and women since the very beginning of time itself. The question is which knee did this man use when bowing down to his god…or did he worship both of the pagan deities as his “Parents”? These gods become the “Mothers” and “Fathers” of the pagan followers.

Additional Observations

These bones had some type of preservative added to them long ago. My observations of the bones indicate that a lacquer finish may have been used within the last 50-75 years. Lacquer finishing was commonly used to restore wood and likely someone applied some form of lacquer on these bones to preserve them.

The entire skeleton had been preserved the same way, and I suspect there were some issues with ongoing decay before someone decided to use a preservation coating such as lacquer. Additionally, I suspect the bones had been not cleaned and or bleached and had been kept in a moist, damp, and dirty environment for many years.

“The bones do not feel like other human bones and have a very different texture when you feel them in your hands. The exterior has a soft finish and feels soft to the touch when normally human bones feel heavy, dense, and dry”.

The knee bones were not identical as I would have expected them to be, and in this particular deceased human, there seemed to be a large variation in the two knee caps compared to others I have used for sculpting in the past.

The color, the design, and the texture make this sculpted creation especially disturbing and dark… much like a religion that believes that incest is a form of godliness. This sculpture is truly a masterpiece and defines the darkness that has been worshipped for millenniums.
